What We Did

Created business identity

Ag Equipment Power logo We created a logo that projected a feeling of power and machines that would appeal to the magazine's primarily male audience.

Ag Equipment Power Magazine Colors We created a color scheme that created a feeling of action, strength, and technology.

Created Website

We designed a Website that would be easy for the magazine's readers to quickly navigate to the forms they needed. The visual style of the site was created to reflect the hi-tech machinery featured in the magazine and to appeal to it's largely male audience.

The Website was created from scratch to have these custom features:

  • Interactive ad cost calculator (DHTML/JavaScript)
  • Searchable editorial archive that allows users to view past articles, e-mail articles to others, and view/download articles in Adobe PDF format (PHP/MySQL) and complete Cover Photo Gallery
  • Dealer locator database and interactive map for finding nearest dealers
  • RSS newsfeed for new articles, events calendar, and site news.
  • Classified ad and subscription forms (linked to MS Access databases)
  • Password-protected back-end for employees to update site content

We also helped them with the following:

  • Registered the domain name and worked with a Web hosting company to set up custom email accounts and to increase security
  • Converted 5-years of magazine covers to thumbnail and full-size images
  • Implemented Google Adsense program to increase revenue from the site

Results

Advertisers and agencies can get information and calculate ad costs on their own instead of requiring a sales associate. 62% of subscription requests and 87% of classified ads are now processed online instead of requiring employee data entry. Website traffic increased 580% over the following year.
